WRU Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how WRU (“we”, “the app”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the WRU mobile application. By using WRU, you agree to this policy.
1. Information we collect
- Account information: email address, password (stored by Firebase Authentication), and display name.
- Profile photo: optional avatar image you upload.
- Location data: approximate/precise location when you enable location sharing, including while the app is in the background, so friends can see your position on the map.
- Social connections: friend requests and friend relationships (emails/names linked to those requests).
- Device/app data: basic technical data needed to run Firebase services and maps (for example, app identifiers and crash/diagnostic data processed by Google services).
2. How we use information
- Create and manage your account.
- Show your avatar and profile details to friends.
- Share your live location with accepted friends only while location sharing is turned on.
- Display friends on the map and help you find a friend’s location in the app.
- Provide password reset and account security features.
- Operate, maintain, and improve the app.
3. Location sharing
Location access is used for the core feature of WRU: sharing your position with friends. Background location is used only when you explicitly enable location sharing, so friends can continue to see your updated position if the app is minimized or the screen is off. You can stop sharing at any time in the app; when sharing is off, WRU stops sending location updates.
4. Who can see your data
- Your location is visible only to users you have accepted as friends, and only while sharing is enabled.
- Your display name, email used for friend discovery, and avatar may be visible to users interacting with friend requests/friend lists.
- We do not sell your personal data.
5. Service providers
WRU uses Google Firebase and Google Maps Platform to provide authentication, database storage, file storage, maps, and location-related functionality. These providers process data on our behalf according to their terms and privacy policies:
6. Data retention
Account, profile, friend, and location records are kept while your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us. Location points are overwritten/updated during active sharing and are not intended for long-term tracking history.
7. Your choices
- Enable or disable location sharing in the app at any time.
- Upload, replace, or keep a default avatar.
- Remove friends and decline friend requests.
- Reset your password via email.
- Uninstall the app to stop local device collection.
- Delete your account and associated data (see section 8).

You can request deletion of your WRU account and associated data here:

In the app: Profile → enter your password → “Удалить аккаунт и данные”. Or email sc2vamun@gmail.com from your account email. We delete account data within 30 days of a verified request.
9. Children’s privacy
WRU is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. International processing
Data may be processed on servers operated by Google in different countries, depending on Firebase/Maps configuration.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of WRU after updates means you accept the revised policy.
